The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Yekini Nabena, has stated that the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, is a total failure in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Nabena, time has left the Kwara-born minister behind in the scheme of things in the ruling APC and he can no longer catch up with time unless he works with his state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, of Kwara State.

Nabena made the comments in response to a statement issued by Alhaji Mohammed where the minister called him an impostor.

The minister was responding to Nabena’s advice, asking him to work with his state governor and allow peace to reign in the ongoing nationwide membership registration and revalidation exercise of the party.

“Lai Mohammed should go back to his state chapter (Kwara) if he is still relevant there and work with the governor and other stakeholders for his voice to be heard at the national level.”

“The details of evil plans to destroy the APC by the likes of the minister has been exposed and the party leadership is fully aware.

“At the right time, Lai Mohammed and his gang will be exposed and Nigerians will then know the real impostor, that time is sooner.”

“Time has left Lai Mohammed behind and he can’t catch up with time. Lai Mohammed and his fifth columnists are the biggest problems of this administration.

“As the minister of information and culture that suppose to explain the policies and programmes, including the remarkable achievements of this administration to Nigerians, Lai Mohammed has failed woefully.

“Whatever he says is considered a lie. If not, Lai should tell Nigerians what has been his contributions in the last five years.”

Meanwhile, Lai Mohamed recently called for the cancellation of the membership registration and validation exercise of the APC in Kwara State.

“The guidelines are also clear on how registration materials are to be handed over and distributed. It says officials for the assignment are prohibited from handing over registration forms, other materials inclusive of registration data in a manner not prescribed by the exercise to unauthorized persons, and that the materials (forms, registers and others) are to be distributed directly to the Registration Officers, and records of the distribution are to be captured and reported accordingly,” he said.

He demanded the “cancellation of the APC Membership Registration Exercise in Kwara State and the putting in place of a process to ensure the conduct of a credible and fair exercise that will enjoy the support and confidence of all.”
