Former beauty queen, Pamela Ifejoku, has accused business mogul and husband of actress Regina Daniels, Ned Nwoko, of putting her father in prison over a land dispute.
Ifejoku won contests for Miss Abuja and Miss Tourism in recent years.
She claimed Ned Nwoko “illegally jailed” her father for years because he is influential and wealthy.
According to her, her mother celebrated her birthday with her husband in prison because of Ned Nwoko.
Pamela claimed Ned Nwoko, who was a member of the House of Representatives between 1999 and 2003 representing Aniocha North-South and Oshimili North-South, instigated a crisis amongst them when a land he wanted became difficult to get.
In a series of tweets on Sunday, May 16, 2021, the former beauty queen narrated how it all went down and how her dad ended up in prison.
Excerpt of her tweets read: “Sometime in 2017, Ned Nwoko instigated a crisis in Idumuje Ugboko Community in Delta State, as a result of the community’s firm refusal to give him additional 90 hectares of land, having mismanaged the over hectares earlier giving to him..
“In ensuing crisis, it was alleged that one Cyprian Kumaorun was killed, while this was ongoing,my father, Mr Okey Ifejoku was several kilometres away in Asaba. He was either present at the scene of the crisis nor participated in any alleged fight.
“However, since then, Ned Nwoko has made it a point of duty to terrorise the community until they fall on their knees and offer him the land on a platter. #NedNwokostoptheintimidation #FreeOkeyIfejoku. Please stay with me, the story continues…”
She claimed her father was the president of the Idumuje Ugboko Development Union and got the most ‘oppression’ from Ned Nwoko.
“In 2017, Ned Nwoko promoted the Police in Delta state to file charge Number: A/24OC/2017, at the High Court of Delta state, against Ochei Nmandi and Ofonye Ufoh, for theal alleged murder of Cyprian Kumaorun. This charge was held on the merit and the defendant were acquitted,” she continued.
“Not done, Ned Nwoko, once again, prompted the Police to file charge no MI/24C/ 2020, at the magistrate court of Delta state, Isele – Uku, against his own King (Obi Chukwunonso Nwoko), Mr Okey Ifejoku (My father) and four other innocent members of the community…for the alleged murder of Cyprian Kumaorun.”
These allegations gave Ned Nwoko a trend at number one on Twitter, as many Nigerians have reacted to the news.
Former presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore, who also reacted to the allegations, claimed Ned Nwoko is not new to oppression.
He wrote, “#FreeOkeyIfejoku Ned Nwoko has ruined lots of lives using his influence, wealth & connections with the@PoliceNG and politicians.@pa_melanin is very right.
“In January when I was detained at FCIID in Abuja I met innocent young men detained by Ned, having been framed for murder.”
