The Command’s Information Officer, Blessed Nuhu, has said in a statement that the objective of the operation was to contain criminal maritime activities within the CNC Area of Responsibility (AOR), thus ensuring the safety of lives, properties and businesses within the area especially towards the growth of the economy.
Also reacting was the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) CNC, Rear Admiral Saidu Garba, who added that the operation aims at boosting the efforts of the Nigerian Navy during the conduct of ‘Operation Calm Waters’, which was launched in May 2019
According to Garba, the ‘Operation Calm Waters’ has helped in checkmating the activities of sea robbery, bunkering and other illegal activities within the waterways.
