Nollywood actor, Romanus ‘Natty’ Amuta, is dead

Veteran Nollywood actor, Romanus Amuta, popularly known as Natty is dead. He died at 79.

Amuta died in a hospital in Lagos after battling a protracted ailment.

His first child, Chukwuma Amuta, broke the news to the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu via a phone call.

He confirmed his father died after a protracted ailment, describing his him as a great and caring father whose first priority was taking care of his children.

Chukwuma told NAN, he said, “Yes! My father died this morning in Lagos after a protracted illness.”

Natty, who got his name from an 80s series, New Masquerade, had been rumoured to be dead in 2014 but the news was quickly debunked by him, revealing that his colleagues, Fiberesima Ibinabo, and others had contributed to his health funds.

Natty is an indigene of Ukana, in Udi LGA of Enugu State. He is survived by his wife, Cordelia, and his six children.
