A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, has boasted that the party is capable of saving Nigeria from collapse.

Metuh, who made this remark while hosting members of PDP’s National Working Committee in his Abuja residence, on Thursday, said the opposition party was Nigeria’s option to ensure unity, stability and development as Nigerians are already losing hope because of what they have been through.

He said: “At this point, the PDP remains the viable option to restore hope in the polity, revamp the faith Nigerians have in our nation and save her from collapse.

“Despite my travails and challenges, my confidence in the ideals, values and principles of the PDP, as enshrined by our founding fathers, remain unshaken and it is clear that the party can rescue our nation from her current dire straits.

“Our nation has passed through a lot and the citizens are losing hope in the polity.”

Metuh was recently released from Kuje prison, following a ruling by the Federal High Court, Abuja, admitting him to N250million bail.

The former spokesman has been on trial over a N400m alleged fraud involving the former National Security Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Sambo Dasuki.
