A representing Gummi/Bukkuyum Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, Suleiman Abubakar Gummi has alleged persistent intimidations and harassment by political thugs.
According to him, the thugs are sponsored by the All Progressives Congress (APC) heavyweights in the state.
Gummi, who made this known to newsmen in Gusau on Friday, alleged that an APC chieftain in Gummi town, Maikwarya Gummi has been sponsoring thugs to harass and intimidate him.
The federal lawmaker claimed that on many occasions, his campaign office, billboards and posters were destroyed by the thugs on the orders of Maikwarya.
Gummi recalled that there was a time when the political thugs attempted to burn down the office he built for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gummi town”
“They have made several attempts to set the office ablaze but were prevented by security agents and well-wishers in the town”
“The APC stalwart, Maikwarya was not comfortable with my growing popularity in the zone, being the main reason he has been attacking me by using political thugs to humiliate and intimidate me”
He added that Maikwarya had once told his supporters that even if they kill a PDP member, nothing would happen.
