Senate President Ahmed Lawan has told Gombe and Nigerian youths that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are not to be believed again.
Lawan made this claim on Sunday during an empowerment programme organised by the Senator representing Gombe North.
The chairman of the National Assembly, who spoke in Hausa, noted that for the 16 year-reign of the main opposition party, no meaningful development was brought in the country.
According to him, it would be unfortunate if innocent youths were swayed by the PDP.
Lawan said, “PDP did nothing for 16 years, they spent money without any reasonable development. Youths should not believe PDP again.”
Speaking further, the Senate President noted that President Muhammadu Buhari has shown pragmatic leadership, stressing that the president has brought dividends of democracy to the people
He revealed that the President has never rested for a second since his assumption of office in 2015.
“We thank President Muhammadu Buhari. He is the leader of the party in the country who has given us great leadership from 2015 till date and who has shown great desire to turn around the fortune of this country. Mr President has never rested for a second,” Lawan said.
