…intensifies manhunt for others

The Lagos State Police Command, on Saturday, arrested five hoodlums terrorising neighbouring communities in Ogun State
In the last couple of days, there have been reports of hoodlums carrying out persistent robbery attacks in some communities including Alagbado, Oke-Aro, Adiyan, Matogbun, Olambe, Sango and Ijoko, among others.
Lagos Monitoring Team reliably gathered that the suspects were arrested when they made incursions into Alagbado area of Lagos State, particularly around Kola and Ojokoro.
In an operation which was carried out by Area H led by ACP I.D Zungeru and massively supported by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) under the leadership of DCP Olatunji Disu, the police was able to pursue the suspects, while normalcy was restored to the affected areas.
A top police officer, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects to Lagos Monitoring Team, said investigation was still ongoing to arrest others, saying that a comprehensive manhunt had been put in place.
“Yes, we have arrested five of the suspects. They are assisting with ongoing investigation. At this stage, I can’t reveal more than this but we have restored normalcy to the affected areas,” the source said.
It was further gathered that the affected areas were thoroughly combed by the police, while patrol of the areas is to be sustained to ward off further threats of attack.
