Nollywood actress, Shan George, has reacted to recent actions taken by the Nigerian Force to dismiss their officers over misconduct.
The actress condemned the act, stating that these officers should be well punished for their crimes but dismissing them is over the top especially since they were not accused of murders.
She wrote, “As Long As They Didn’t Kill Anyone. Suspend Them, Demote Them, Cut down their Salary Re-Reorientate Them, But Don’t Dismiss PoliceMen. Nigerian Police, Nigerian government stop dismissing policemen.”
This is in reaction to the dismissal of a police officer, Corporal Opeyemi Kadiri with Force No. 509745, attached to Dolphin Divisional Headquarters, Lagos Police Command, for assault on a member of the public, misconduct and disobedience to lawful order.
He was caught in a viral video released on August 3, 2022.
In the video, he was seen searching a communer’s phone by the roadside. Recall that this has been considered an offence for the force under directives made by the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Bada.
He was dismissed on August 12, 2022, according to a statement released by the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
