Queen Elizabeth’s husband, Prince Philip, has returned to the Windsor Castle after a month in the hospital, following a heart surgery.

He was escorted out of the hospital in a wheelchair at 10:30am on Tuesday morning, March 16, 2021, and helped into the backseat of a BMW.

Prince Philip was taken to the London’s King Edward VII Hospital on February 16. The Palace confirmed he was being treated for an infection and was transferred to St. Bartholomew’s Cardiac Care Unit, where he had surgery to treat a pre-existing condition related to his 2011 heart surgery.

Prince Charles who travelled on February 20 to see his father in the hospital said he is ‘thrilled’ to hear the good news.

Buckingham Palace also confirmed the news with a statement release.

It reads: “His Royal Highness wishes to thank all the medical staff who looked after him at both King Edward VII’s Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and everyone who has sent their good wishes.”
