Angy Lagos residents on Wednesday stormed Lagos State House of Assembly to protest against planned impeachment of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode by the lawmakers.
The protesters who came in their hundreds said any attempt to impeach the governor would affect the coming general elections.
The protesters urged the House to leave the governor alone and allow him to finish his term in office which ends soon.
The protesters noted that Ambode has done creditably well in terms of governance of the state and it would be unfair to treat him the way the lawmakers wanted to treat him.
The protesters were however, prevented from gaining entrance into the Assembly complex as police vehicle blocked its entrance.
