Rapper M.I Abaga has reacted to Wizkid’s comment about the rap genre.
Wizkid in a recent interview said he doesn’t listen to any genre of music anymore except from afrobeat.
He said rap music is dying and becoming boring because they follow the same beat.
He said, “If I’m being honest, I don’t listen to any other genre of music anymore. don’t listen to rap that shit is boring to me.
“It’s dead now, it’s tired. These guys do the same shit, rap on the same beats and the same flows.”
In reaction to this, M.I on Twitter on Friday, said the rap genre will keep making better music because now is the time to focus on their craft.
“The energy around HIP-HOP right now feels right.. I know most rappers are still not the most popular yet.. but right now is the time for us to focus on the craft.. just keep getting better.. this year we did so well as a genre and next year we grow!!!!”
