Skit maker Carter Efe’s song Machala has become number one barely 24 hours after its release.
The song featuring Berri Tiga had garnered the interest of Wizkid’s fans and had pushed the song to the top in the Nigeria music chart.
The song was released on Friday, July 29, 2022.
In the song, Carter who is a diehard fan of Wizkid said he met the artiste in Ghana and had been received well. He went ahead in the song to shower his praise on him.
Wizkid is often referred to as ‘Machala‘ which means ‘Lion’ or ‘King’. The song before its release has been trending on Tik Tok, Instagram and other social media platforms.
The lyrics of the song are an ode to Wizkid.
In reaction to this, the elated skit maker took to the streets to rejoice his achievement by removing his clothes down to his underwear while screaming “Number one! Number one!! The first comedian in Nigeria to top number one… ”
