Death is inevitable and it will happen to everyone. These losses are totally different from a car theft or a failed project. You say your goodbyes to your loved ones and that’s it! Weird right?
Regardless of your religion, wealth or status in the society. Your one day is one day, no two ways about it. Death, of course, comes as a shock, even when we see no way out. It will be a shock to the ones left behind.

Sound Sultan
Our most recent celebrity, who said his final goodbyes to his family, friends and fans is Olanrewaju Fasasi also known as Sound Sultan. His death came as a shock to so many even when we were fully aware of his condition.
The ‘Natural Something’ crooner was rumoured to have been admitted in a US hospital for throat cancer. A day after the news broke, his brother and himself posted news to debunk the rumours. Sound Sultan’s IG page stated that he will talk about it when the time comes. This brought a surge of assurance to his fans who believed his illness was not a serious one.
However, his death shocked both the young and old on July 11, 2021, when his manager broke the devastating news on his own IG page. Celebrities and fans poured in beautiful tributes to mourn his death.
Pa Kasumu
Nollywood actor, Kayode Odumusu also known as Pa Kasumu, was a well known Yoruba actor, who is widely recognised in the Yoruba industry for his use of vocabulary words in movie roles. Before his death, the news of his illness became viral at some point. He was reported to have been battling a heart disease. He succumbed to his battle on March 1, 2020.
Ibidunni Ighodalo
The beautiful former pageant and wife of Pastor Ituah Ighodalo of Trinity House Church, Ibidunni Ighodalo, touched many when she passed on. People who didn’t get to meet her were in shock when they saw the humanitarian side of her. Ibidunni founded the Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation and was the CEO of Elizabeth R. Events. Her lying in state and funeral service were filled with family and friends. A beautiful rite for a beautiful soul.
Although she was not an actor or singer, she gracefully made it to this list. She died a month to her 40th birthday from a cardiac arrest on June 14, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. News of her death became a trending topic for a long time in media houses.

The shocking news of ‘Pon Pon Pon’ rapper, Oladapo Olaitan Olanipekun’s death really messed up our day on April 22, 2010. The day became indeed sour after his death was made known. Oladapo also known as Dagrin already had hit songs like ‘Pon Pon Pon’, ‘Ghetto Dream’, ‘Democracy’ e.t.c. He is the youngest on this list because he passed on at the age of 25 when his career was skyrocketing. Died a week after his auto accident. The Ogun born rapper will forever be missed.
Majek Fashek
This legendary reggae singer, Majekodunmi Fasheke popularly known as Majek Fashek, moved the world when the news of his death became viral. He was known for his song, ‘Send Down The Rain’. Nigerians poured in a series of tributes to celebrate his passing. He was reported to have died in his sleep on June 1, 2020, in New York City. Majek died at the age of 57 while battling esophageal cancer.
Moji Olaiya
The death of this beautiful Yoruba actress was indeed a shock. Olaiya died at the age of 42 in Canada, two months after she gave birth to her second child. Her death swiftly reminded the industry of the loss of another actress years ago, Funmi Martins, who died when her baby was still an infant. Funmi Martins is the mother of popular actress, Mide Martins.
Olaiya died on May 17, 2017, from a cardiac arrest and was buried on June 7, 2017.
