A good number of celebrities have reacted to the disheartening news of the death of a 12-year-old boy, Sylvester Oromoni, who suffered injuries and complications from bullying in school leading to his death.

Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham, showed how displeased she felt especially as a mother. She implored the Lagos State Government, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to investigate the issue.

She said, “How do you beat a child to the point of death? How do you wake up to the reality that the ‘living’ child you sent to school is returning to you as a corpse? Governor Sanwoolu @jidesanwoolu@lasgeducation please do the needful. People need to start talking. Dowen College need to do better than that terse release.

“Looking at this picture above made me really sad. How can this healthy and handsome boy be dead because of wickedness of his peers? Who is rasing these monsters in most boarding houses?

“Where are the officials employed to look after these boys? I am sad as a mother, I am sad as human being and I am sad as a Nigerian. Why are too many young people dying, especially in this country.”

Another actress, Tonto Dikeh, has also given her opinion concerning the death of the boy, most especially at the school, Dowen college in Lagos.

Tonto, in a post on her Instagram story, said people should drop a flower and gift at the gate of the school since the deceased’s supposed birthday is today.

She said, “Dear Dowen College, I have been informed, I am coming… I am gathering all the facts and history of this misfortune together, then we will talk…

“Don’t go no where, our children can’t go to school to be great and end up 6 feet below. God forbid, that’s not why we trust SCHOOLS.”

She also expressed sadness over the issue in another post. It reads: “Woke up with so much pain. How do you lose a child in a safe zone and whose birthday is today?

“Sending love and light to MASTERSYLVESTER’s family and loved ones. Happy birthday Champ, thanks mama, we promise you justice. #JUSTICEFORSYLVESTER.”

Reality star, Tacha, said, “I am devastated… I just want to know what the next cause of action is because we cannot keep letting serious issues like this be swept under the carpet NO…

“This case needs to be investigated as soon as possible… WHERE ARE THE LEGAL PRACTITIONERS? WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO BE TAKEN? WHAT EXACTLY DO WE NEED TO DO?”

Ace actress, Mercy Johnson, talked about how sad she felt watching a video about the boy and of course the pictures she saw.

She said, “I could not bring myself to post the video, I haven’t even been able to watch it twice. I can’t imagine the pain this child felt, I cannot imagine. Sylvester’s life cannot be in vain, he cannot go like that.”

Another Nollywood actress, Adunni Ade, said, “Absolutely barbaric! I hope the law doesn’t waste much time in doing the needful. I hope a proper investigation has started. I hope these other children have been detained and are being questioned.”

Advocating that the school be shut down, she said, “I hope the school has been shut down while all this goes on. May his soul Rest In Peace. I read one of the students allegedly accused jumped the fence.

“In a secondary school? This is shocking! This is just too sad. Rest on Sylvester.”
