Early goals at the start of each half from Mehdi Taremi and Moussa Marega saw Porto beat Juventus 2-1 in their Champions League last-16 first-leg tie on Wednesday.
Taremi gave Porto the lead after just 63 seconds when a defensive mix-up from the visitors gifted him an easy finish. Moussa Marega then netted 19 seconds into the second half.
Federico Chiesa scored what could prove to be a vital away goal for Juventus in the 82nd minute.
Szczesny stuck out a hand to stop an Oliveira shot formed making it three, but the visitors finally came to life in the final 20 minutes. Agustín Marchesín had to scramble to palm away a deflected Chiesa shot, before the Italy international raced on to a pass to cushion a finish into the corner.
The goal made Chiesa the first Juventus player other than Cristiano Ronaldo to score in the knockout stages of the Champions League since Blaise Matuidi in April 2018.
Ronaldo, the competition’s all-time top scorer, was largely kept quiet on his return to his home country, before having an appeal for a penalty waved away in stoppage time.
Juventus have dominated Serie A, winning the title for the past nine years, but Andrea Pirlo’s side are off the pace this season at home and could not come to terms with an energetic and lively Porto outfit either.
Porto, winners of the competition under Jose Mourinho in 2004, last reached the quarter-finals two seasons ago and were strong favourites to reach the last eight.
