We exaggerated Jigawa’s COVID-19 cases by 7 on 6 June 2020, says NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Sunday, apologised to the Jigawa Government for the error in its record of the confirmed COVID-19.

The centre on its verified Twitter account on Sunday night said that “Yesterday, we erroneously reported seven new cases in Jigawa. Following further review, we can confirm that these were repeat tests for previously confirmed cases”.

The NCDC apologised to the Government of Jigawa for this error.

It said the agency remains committed to improving its quality control processes, to ensure accurate and transparent reporting of COVID19 pandemic outbreak cases in the country.

KAFTAN Post reports on Sunday night that Nigeria has recorded a total of 12,486 COVID-19 cases, of which 3,959 have been discharged and 354 fatalities recorded.

The 260 new cases are reported from 19 states- “Abia-67, FCT-40, Lagos-38, Ogun-19, Gombe-16, Edo-14, Imo-9, Kwara-8, Katsina-8, Nasarawa-8, Borno-8, Kaduna-6, Bauchi-5, Ekiti-4, Niger-2, Ondo-2, Plateau-2, Kano-2, Sokoto-2.”
