Political commentator, Reno Omokri, has shared Naira Marley’s side of his story in an interview conducted on Instagram Live.
The video which has been trending for hours since its release on Wednesday shared Naira Marley answering some questions related to the death of Mohbad.
Reno had asked Naira Marley if the speculations about his involvement in the demise of his former signee were true. Naira Marley replied, “No, definitely no. I have been out of the country since 31st of August and I haven’t been to Nigeria till date. That’s number one.
“He’s left Marlian record since 2022 and we haven’t stopped him from releasing music so when I heard his death, it was shocking to me…”
Naira Marley went further to state that the record label is not benefitting from the late singer’s music. He said the songs since he left the record label are his.
He denied having any further involvement in the death of Mohbad, who passed on following an ear infection on September 12, 2023.
Naira Marley also talked about his involvement with DJ Splash, who was alleged to have developed mental illness while with the record label. Naira Marley said DJ Splash had developed the illness before he became affiliated with the record label. He said he didn’t sign the artiste.
Many had criticised the social activist over his sudden interest in Naira Marley over the case.
