Agboola Ajayi, the PDP candidate for governor of Ondo State, claims that throughout the last eight years, the All Progressives Congress (APC), which has been in power, has not been good for the state or its citizens.
This was stated by the PDP candidate during a Friday media roundtable in Lagos.
He claimed that neither Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa nor the APC’s nominee for governor in the gubernatorial election scheduled for November 16 had fulfilled their campaign pledges.
The safety and wellbeing of the people are the main goals of administration, according to Ajayi, a former deputy governor of the state.
“Any political party that departs from this professed tenet of governance would undoubtedly make mistakes and endanger the interests of the people. I can see exactly how I want it to go.

He said that many issues had been left behind by the late governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and that these issues had gotten worse under the administration of Ayedatiwa, the late governor’s deputy who succeeded him.
He stated, “Therefore, the State’s governorship election on November 16th deserves serious consideration as it will determine, shape, or mar the State’s fortune in the next four years.”
Ajayi expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct and results of the Edo governorship election on September 21 and stated that democracy would not flourish in a situation where an election was merely an exercise in imposition.
He asserts that those with the constitutional authority to defend Nigerians and guarantee that the proper procedures are followed at all times during elections must not let down the electorate.
