Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, the lawmakers representing Zaria Federal Constituency of Kaduna State has been elected Speaker of the House of Representatives.
He won over 200 votes from the lawmakers to emerge winner after defeating former Deputy Speaker, Idris Wase and Sani Jaji.
Abbas was nominated by outgoing Majority Leader of the House, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, who earlier stepped stepped down from the race.
The lawmaker representing Zaria remains the choice of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
Two speakership aspirants, Aliyu Betara and Yusuf Gagdi had stepped down for Tajudeen Abbas.
