Actress Belinda Effah has revealed why she changed her name to Grace-Charis Bassey, and the reason behind it.
Belinda posted on her Instagram page on Monday, April 19, 2021 to narrate how she got her name.
She stated that her step brother renamed her and her sisters because he thought they needed an English name.
Posting another picture, she added that she needed to change the previous name after learning the meaning.
The actress wrote, “I Bore The Name Belinda Without Knowing The Meaning – Pretty Serpent. Fast Forward To When People Started Asking Me The Meaning Of My Name. I Decided To Research The Meaning Of My Name. Story Continues In Next Post
“Dear World Please Kindly Endeavor To Effect My Name Change Grace-Charis Bassey Effah (GCB), This Is my Decision. No Offense To Those Bearing Linda or Belinda, as I Respect Every Linda’s out There.
“My Destiny Is Different From Theirs. What Might Work For Them Might Not Work For Others. I Have Chosen My Path and I Am Following It.”
The actress then proceeded to give herself a new name and has asked to be addressed as ‘Queen Grace-Charis Bassey’.
